Sampson Williams, a close friend of Andrew Jackson, and Cordell Hull are among the famous people who lived and worked in the Gainesboro area. Fort Blount, a military outpost, was located near Gainesboro in the late 1700’s. A rich history is to be explored in this area.
Gainesboro offers easy access to I-40, only seventeen miles, and conveniently located within twenty miles of Cookeville.
The city continues to work toward improvements in the infrastructure of the town as well as making it a more attractive place to live.
